Classroom Rules
*Listen Attentively –
When the teacher is giving instructions or the class is having a discussion, show that you are listening by stopping what you are doing, looking at the speaker, and being quiet. It is a simple way of giving the respect that everyone deserves – including you.
*Be Prepared –
Make sure you bring everything you need to class: pencil, binder, highlighter, calculator, homework and agenda. If you have to leave class to go to your locker, you miss instruction and waste time.
*Watch Your Words –
Be careful with the words you use. Once you say them, you can never take them back. Even if you say you are joking, it is not acceptable to call another student names or to make fun of anyone.
*Try First –
When you are given a difficult assignment, ask any questions that you need answered to clarify the task and then jump in! Saying “I can’t” or “It is too hard” before you try is giving up.
*Give Your Best –
Only you can decide if you are putting forth your very best effort, and you are the main person who is hurt if you don’t.
*Golden Rule –
“Treat others as you would like to be treated.” Help other students when you can, and always be polite. Think about how you would want other students or teachers to treat you, and respond in the same way.
Failure to comply with the classroom rules will result in one or more of the following consequences: teacher parent conference, parent notification, discipline referral, lunch detention, after school detention, Saturday detention, points awarded and / or any other appropriate actions.
